I’ve been guilty of abandoning this blog for quite a while. Not because I haven’t been doing new or interesting things. In fact, I’ve probably been doing more than ever before. Life has simply been busy, and over the years my skills and focus have grown well beyond just SQL Server.
When I originally created SQL Canada, the idea was to share interesting things I learned in the SQL Server world. While SQL Server is still a big part of what I do, my day-to-day work now spans a much broader range of technologies.
Going forward, you’ll see content covering topics like:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Power BI
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Databricks
- SQL Server (on-premises)
- SQL Server and data technologies in Azure
- And whatever other interesting technologies happen to cross my path
The goal of the blog hasn’t really changed. I’ll continue writing about things I’ve had to research, problems I’ve had to solve, lessons learned from customer engagements, and best practices that I’ve discovered along the way. Many of these topics start as gaps that I encounter in real-world projects, and documenting the journey helps me remember them while hopefully helping others as well.
So while the name may still be SQL Canada, the content will evolve alongside my career and the technologies I work with. Thanks for sticking around, and hopefully it won’t take me another few years to write the next post.
